Pinocchio, The Land of Toys
Five months of holiday with no school in it, a mirror that shows two long ears, and a ring of sawdust under a circus lamp.
Retold for sleep from The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, first published in 1883 and long out of copyright. The story is Collodi's; every sentence here is our own.
Low, slow and spacious, a gentle cadence with long pauses, tuned for the dark and made to be drifted off to.
