Pinocchio, The Fairy with Azure Hair
A little white house in the wood, a spoonful of medicine refused, a nose that lengthens with every lie, and a field where money is said to grow.
Retold for sleep from The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, first published in 1883 and long out of copyright. The story is Collodi's; every sentence here is our own.
Low, slow and spacious, a gentle cadence with long pauses, tuned for the dark and made to be drifted off to.
