The Odyssey, The Scar
A beggar mocked in his own hall, a long conversation by the fire, and an old nurse washing a stranger's feet.
Retold for sleep from The Odyssey by Homer, from a public-domain English translation long out of copyright. The story is Homer's; every sentence here is our own.
Tender and reassuring, steady when things aren't, present and calm without ever overpromising.
