The Odyssey, The Court of Alcinous
A walled orchard where fruit never fails, a hall of bronze and gold, athletic games on the sand, and a singer who makes a guest weep.
Retold for sleep from The Odyssey by Homer, from a public-domain English translation long out of copyright. The story is Homer's; every sentence here is our own.
